When having a culvert installed within the town limits of Walker, first contact the Permit Department. You should know the following:

1. The culvert size will be determined by the Town of Walker.
2. The elevation of the culvert will be established by the owner's engineer.
3. The Town of Walker Permit Department is to be provided with written certification from the engineer stating that the culvert[s] was/were installed at the correct elevation.
4. If an open ditch is being covered, catch basins are to be installed every 45 feet. Catch basins are to be a minimum of 3 inches below the edge of the street in the area of installation. The Town of Walker building inspector must inspect the culvert and any catch basin installations before they are covered.
