Doing business with Walker

Purchasing Department
City of Walker
13740 Ball Park Road
Walker, LA 70785

Phone: 225.791.3175
Fax: 225.791.3102

Hours
6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday

The City of Walker Purchasing Department ensures every division and department has all of the materials and supplies they need to keep our community moving, from paper clips in the office to tar for road repairs. The department also maintains inventory and records to guarantee that city workers remain accountable for all money spent on behalf of our citizens. We also work closely with each department to ensure they stick within their budgets.

We welcome all businesses to take part in a fair and impartial process to provide goods and services to our community. Although the state requires municipalities to obtain bids for items costing $10,000 or more, Mayor Bobby Font has made it his policy for the City of Walker to obtain bids on any item costing above $500. This expands opportunities for businesses as well as ensures that the citizens of Walker always get the most competitive price available for all of our purchases.
