The Walker Museum is an invaluable — and free — resource for the classroom. This cultural attraction houses an extensive collection of artifacts documenting the history of Walker, Livingston Parish and Louisiana. Much is here to see, touch, smell and remember.
Likewise, our Community Art Gallery exhibits the work of some of Livingston Parish's most talented artists — and occasionally, our up-and-coming student artists as well.
The Walker Museum is available for:
» Exclusive classroom tours can be arranged by appointment.
» Speakers are available to share Walker's history with your students in the classroom.
» Our scavenger hunt activity called "Mysteries of The Walker Museum" can be reproduced and used as homework or an extra-credit assignment as part of any lessons you may teach on Louisiana history. To download the activity, click here.
The City of Walker and The Walker Museum will be happy to assist you in any way we can. To arrange tours or a speaker, or for additional information, please call us at 225-665-4356.
