Step back in time and discover life in old Louisiana at The Walker Museum. The museum is home to a vast collection of artifacts documenting the town of Walker's rich history, including items from the old general merchandise store, the original blades from the saw mill, the sales window and postal boxes from the first post office, old farm equipment, tools and more. Browse hundreds of photographs documenting life in South Louisiana, and hear Walker's oldest families share animated stories of how the town came to be. And don't miss our Community Art Gallery, with its monthly exhibits featuring the works of some of Livingston Parish's most gifted artists. November 1

Join us at the Community Art Gallery in November and enjoy the work of Jena Sorapuru-Karras of mudDog Pottery. The Walker artist's work can only be described as autobiographical. Each piece is a part of her that represents her spiritual upbringing, her love for all things beautiful, the whimsy in which she goes about her life and her pride in being a native of Louisiana.
