WALKER VETERANS PARADE CANCELLED
The Veteran’s Day Parade for the City of Walker has been cancelled. Unfortunately, due to a lack of participation, the City will not be able to host the event this year but hopes to continue the tradition in the future.
PAY YOUR UTILITY BILL ONLINE WITH CREDIT/DEBIT CARD
Effective September 30, 2014, you can pay your utility bill online with credit/debit card.
The Park will be closed to all scheduled activities. Please enter the park from Corbin Avenue. Ball Park Road will be closed and open only to local traffic.
Park Street Waterline Improvements
The City of Walker through its contractor, L. King is installing the new 6 inch water main to improve the pressure and water quality of the water for the residents along park Street.This improvement will also allow home owners along Park Street to take advantage of lower homeowner’s insurance due to the installation of the fire hydrants on Park Street.

PARK STREET ROAD CLOSURE
Due to the construction and replacement of the water line that is currently taking place the City will be closing Park Street from Aydell Street to Hwy. 190 beginning Monday, June 16, 2014. The street will be open for residents on that street only. We appreciate your cooperation and patience during this time.

The State DOTD has signed a contract with Diamond B Construction Co., LLC to construct a left turn lane on Hwy 190 where the intersection connects at Hwy. 449. Work has now commenced and
expected to be completed by October 2014 (weather permitting). This work also includes repairs to the railroad crossing on Hwy. 449. The contract amount for this work is $358,664.22.

THE OWNER OF ANY YARD, LOT, PASTURE, FARM LAND, SUBDIVISION OR PARCEL OF GROUND LOCATED WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF WALKER ARE REQUIRED TO CUT, DESTROY OR REMOVE WEEDS OR GRASS OR DELETERIOUS OR UNHEALTY GROWTHS OR OTHER OBNOXIOUS MATTER, GROWING, LAYING OR LOCATED IN OR UPON YARDS AND/OR VACANT LOTS, PLACE OR AREA.
ANY SUCH VIOLATION WILL BE CUT BY THE CITY OF WALKER OR DESIGNATED THIRD PARTY AT A RATE OF $150.00 PER HOUR AND CERTIFICATE SHOWING THE COST OF SUCH WORK, PLUS A PENALTY OF TEN (10) PERCENT THEREOF SHALL BE RECORDED IN THE MORTGAGE RECORDS AS A TAX LIEN.
